You can notice that input tubes are located near back panel — it was done intentionally.

I arranged them close to the input sockets and so that signal wires were as short as possible. Potentiometer is also mounted here and its shaft is extended with the steel rod to the front panel where it ends up with the knob.

As input connectors I have used teflon insulated, gold plated chassis-mounted RCA sockets.
